Dr. Ken Green is the managing director of the Innovate Indiana Fund, an Indiana University-based venture capital fund focused on supporting entrepreneurial companies with deep ties to the University. He is responsible for overall sourcing, due diligence, and investment management for the Fund, which invests in both seed and pre-seed opportunities coming out of IU. Ken is also co-founder and managing partner of Spring Mill Venture Partners, an Indiana-based venture capital company focused on investing in early-stage technology companies in both healthcare and information technology. 

Ken has over 30 years of experience in the life science industry, 20 of it in venture capital. Prior to founding Spring Mill Ventures, Ken was the CEO of Cutanogen Corporation, a start-up medical device company developing tissue-engineered skin for the treatment of burns. Before that, Ken spent eight years at SenMed Medical Ventures, where he worked in the technology group investigating, sourcing, and managing investments in a broad array of technologies including tissue engineering, artificial organs, refractive surgery, diagnostics, and biotechnology. In addition, Ken formed and managed the company’s Scientific Advisory Board.

Ken also serves on the boards of SynTherix, QuadraSpec, CS-Keys, Ifbyphone, and SonarMed as a member or observer. He is the chairman of the Biomedical Engineering External Advisory Board at IUPUI (Indianapolis) and a member of the Research and Development committee of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana.  He has taught at Indiana University (Bloomington), IUPUI (Indianapolis), Notre Dame (South Bend), and Purdue University (West Lafayette).

Ken obtained his M.D. at the University of Toronto, trained in internal medicine, and practiced for eight years before entering the entrepreneurial world. Later, he obtained his M.B.A. at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
