Business Development Manager, Life Sciences

Description: Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation is an independent, non-profit corporation that manages and markets Indiana University’s technology and inventions. We are seeking an experienced licensing professional to aggressively market and license IU’s life sciences inventions.

Qualifications: An advanced degree in a life sciences field or an undergraduate degree and equivalent experience in a corporate setting, corporate business development experience, and a proven track record in technology marketing and licensing. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and selling skills are essential. Knowledge of patent and contract law are helpful.

Responsibilities: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of life sciences inventions and licenses. The position will emphasize active marketing and licensing of life sciences inventions with the goal of increasing income. The individual will work proactively with Indiana University School of Medicine faculty to identify marketable inventions, secure patent protection, aggressively market to companies, and negotiate licenses. The person will provide a high level of service to licensees and faculty and manage multiple projects.
