IURTC Is Committed to Protecting the Rights of Inventors, Investors, and the University
IURTC exists to help ensure that important discoveries made by IU faculty and researchers reach the people who can benefit most from them, while protecting the rights of inventors, investors, and the university. The revenue generated for the university from licensing agreements is used to fund new facilities such as the Indiana University Innovation Center, invest in promising new discoveries through the Innovate Indiana Fund, and improve the quality of research and education at the university.
Ultimately, we hope that every IURTC-supported project will generate other research projects at the university, provide educational opportunities for IU students, and build new Indiana-based businesses and jobs. In support of that mission, we follow these policies:
