TECH FIELD(S)
Software security for higher education networks

FEATURES
Get Connected eases the burden of initially linking thousands of students in university living residences to a campus network. Every year thousands of new students must access a university’s network for the first time. Their computers often present security and compatibility problems that Get Connected circumvents.
Get Connected performs 4 general tasks:
- The program first verifies basic security checking for example, Microsoft baseline security analyzer, Windows updates, and anti-virus.
- The computer is then specifically secured by blocking ports, enabling Windows firewall, scheduling Windows updates etc.
- The program installs software such as Windows defender, SpyBot, Printer finder etc.
- The computer is registered.
